I went to the library today in search of Ken Follet’s Pillars Of The Earth. It’s an excellent, weighty novel about the building of a cathedral in 12th century England. (It’s actually a LOT more interesting than it sounds.
) I’ve read it a number of times, but haven’t read it in about ten years.
There’s a sequel coming out, so I wanted to reread the original before I picked up World Without End.
At any rate, I looked all over the library for Pillars Of The Earth, but couldn’t find it. It was at that point that the librarian told me that it was on the display of banned books-since this is Banned Book Week.
She also had this totally awesome bracelet on that I absolutely MUST have:
It floors me that To Kill A Mockingbird , which is on the bracelet, was at one point banned. It’s one of the greatest American novels.
A weird aside: my library has a Myspace page.
